Woody Brown, a non-speaking autistic novelist, has shared his remarkable journey from being dismissed by society to achieving success as a writer.
For much of his life, Brown faced significant barriers to communication and was often misunderstood by those around him.
However, through his determination and the use of assistive technology, he has been able to express his thoughts and creativity.
His story is a powerful testament to the potential of neurodivergent people when they are given the right support and tools to communicate.
Brown's debut novel has received critical acclaim, proving that his voice is both unique and necessary in the literary world.
He describes his past experiences as being in a pit of despair, but his current success has provided him with a sense of purpose and belonging.
By sharing his story, Brown hopes to inspire other non-speaking people and to challenge the misconceptions that often surround autism.
His achievements highlight the importance of looking beyond traditional methods of communication and recognising the diverse ways in which people can contribute to society and the arts.
