A major European summit has issued a stark call to action for the space and defence sectors, insisting that diversity and inclusion must immediately transition from superficial box ticking exercises to core strategic priorities.
The recent high level meeting brought together hundreds of industry leaders, government officials, and academic experts to discuss the future resilience of these critical technological fields.
The central consensus was that mere representation is no longer sufficient and organisations must ensure that diverse talent translates directly into real decision making power at the executive level.
Speakers emphasised that inclusion is fundamentally a matter of smart economics and operational capability, directly impacting an organisation's ability to innovate and compete on a global scale.
As investment in these sectors continues to expand rapidly, experts warn that failing to take intentional action on diversity risks locking in existing inequalities and severely limiting the available talent pool.
Industry experts outline urgent recommendations, demanding that companies implement meaningful metrics to assess their progress and actively communicate their commitment to building equitable workplaces that welcome neurodivergent individuals and minority professionals into the highest levels of technological development.
