Recent industry data reveals a concerning disconnect between employer confidence and the actual lived experiences of neurodivergent employees.
While corporate awareness of neurodiversity has undeniably risen, the comprehensive survey shows that the practical implementation of supportive measures severely lags behind.
Neurodivergent workers consistently report facing significant hurdles, including prolonged delays in receiving basic workplace adjustments, uneven support from management, and a concerning lack of psychological safety.
The data indicates that many individuals still feel compelled to mask their neurodivergent traits due to a persistent fear of stigma and exposure to everyday microaggressions.
The report underscores that having a written diversity policy is entirely insufficient if it is not embedded deeply into the organisational culture and daily management practices.
Experts warn that this gap leads directly to burnout, poor mental health, and high attrition rates among talented staff.
The foundation behind the research is calling on businesses to move urgently from passive compliance to active inclusion, demanding that employers listen directly to their neurodivergent workforce and take immediate, decisive action to dismantle structural barriers and create genuinely supportive working environments.
