A primary school on the UK's Isle of Man is trialling a new "inclusive" classroom design.
The Adaptive Classroom Project at Scoill Yn Jubilee school aims to see if a revamped environment helps pupils feel safer and more supported.
One Year 5 class will use the new room, which features different zones, including soft seating, group work stations, and a regulation area.
It also has upgraded lighting and ergonomic seating, based on a trauma-informed approach.
A second Year 5 class will act as a control group, using a standard room but doing the same activities.
This comparison will allow researchers to isolate the physical environment's impact on pupil outcomes.
The project, proposed by interior design firm Work Solutions, emphasizes connection over traditional behaviour management.
Staff and parents will also receive training in restorative practices.
