A study by a major occupational health provider found that neurodivergence has become the third most common reason for employee referrals, following mental health and musculoskeletal issues.

The report, which analysed over 135,000 cases, found that 10% were related to neurodivergent conditions like autism and ADHD.

This shift is attributed to increased awareness and diagnosis, but also highlights that current workplace environments are often not equipped to support these cognitive differences.

The study underscores the necessity for employers to invest in training and adaptive strategies to manage and benefit from this growing demographic in the workforce.
