A new vintage clothes shop and cafe, named "Wear", has opened in Sunderland, UK to create workplace opportunities for disabled and neurodivergent people.
Established by the non-profit organisation AutismAble, the store aims to overcome a "lack of opportunities" and will also host a support hub.
The initiative has already proven transformative for its staff.
Harrison Farrell-Forster, who has ADHD, explains that the role has given him a stable routine, which he struggled to maintain in previous jobs.
Another neurodivergent staff member, Ryan Stewart, says the understanding environment means he no longer feels immense pressure or that making a mistake is the "end of the world".
The shop also includes a SeaChange cafe and plans to expand online to create non-public-facing roles.
