Workplace Neurodiversity Primer

Learn how to create a better workplace for autistic staff and clients

This essential primer helps staff at every level to appreciate the value that diverse minds can bring to any setting. It introduces the concept of neurodiversity, explaining it as a natural variation in human neurology. It covers different neurotypes, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, focusing on the strengths and perspectives these differences bring. We then explore how to foster an inclusive environment that celebrates all ways of thinking.

Among the many topics we cover, you'll learn about...

  • Defining neurodiversity and neurotypicality

  • Exploring different neurotypes (autism, ADHD, dyslexia etc.)

  • Challenging the deficit model and focusing on strengths

  • Benefits of a neurodiverse workforce and community

  • Practical steps to foster an inclusive and accepting environment

  • Language and respectful communication regarding neuro-differences
